The Town of Marshall was looking to update their brand to appeal to a different demographic. The town was wishing to attract young professionals with families, who would call Marshall their home.
The Town of Marshall brand is built on nostalgia, a longing for innocence, and trust. It’s about escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, but being near enough that a quick commute isn’t out of the question. It is a simple, clean and cheery brand with warm colors and approachable sans-serif fonts which make the viewer feel welcome. We hit the concept right on the head at the start and, after a few tweaks to the logo, the carefully crafted visual identity was ready to find its home on multiple products.
Research is a must on large branding projects such as this one. There are always examples of successful brands in any service or industry (even if that happens to be a form of government), and we find it is helpful to emulate what has been proven to work and discard what doesn’t.
